Dear Brothers, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make our Irish heritage month with the Watertown Library this past month a success. This year we wanted to do something for the community to let them show what the Hibernians are all about. So we hosted two lectures at the Watertown Main Library. Jack Meehan kicked off the first lecture with insight on the history of Division 14. Then the multi-knowledgeable and talented John Horrigan hosted and evening on Irish immigration, the famine and the shipwrecks off the south shores of Boston. The highlight of the lectures was the history of the wreck of the St. John off the coast of Cohasset. Both events were very much appreciated by those in attendance. I hope we can make this a yearly project to continue to impart our Irish history throughout the community.
I would like to acknowledge a few people who stepped up to help for this event. The people that went above and beyond are as follows: Ladies AOH Div 14 Thank you one and all. Leo Falter
